In my evolution as an artist I have found I go through stages or phases. Maybe addictions is a better word. Whatever they’re called this was during one of them where I couldn’t get enough of drawing rocks (followed closely by the drawing “Rock Concert”). I found I just really enjoyed capturing their individual nuances and to create the abstract realism it takes to convincingly replicate a rock. Adding the American Robin to the composition gave me the much needed final touch and catchy title.
