B46 “Field Journal Interrupted”

Back in my days working as a field biologist who’s training was in mammals but whom always seemed to land the bird gigs, ID’ing birds was occasionally challenging. Often they got noted as “little brown jobber” in my journal. I’ve since learned the names, sounds, and uniqueness of my local avian friends, including the feisty and all too curious Red Breasted Nuthatch.
